Deco Contracts was subcontracted to be part of three critical stages of the Lyell McEwin Hospital project, with a specialized focus on the construction and finishing of walls, landings, and ceilings. Their strategic approach involved comprehensive planning, effective procedural execution, and proactive stakeholder engagement, ensuring each phase was accomplished with minimal disturbance to the hospital’s active operations.
Stage A encompassed a major overhaul of the existing hospital campus, part of the 30,000m2 facility under a relationship-based contract. This phase prioritized value, community, and environmental outcomes.
Stage B entailed additional refurbishments to the General Hospital, the creation of a new Mental Health Unit, a Linear Accelerator Radiotherapy facility, and a multi-storey parking structure.
Stage C involved constructing a new 96-bed acute inpatient building, a new ambulatory care building, facilities for support services, a Women’s Health Centre, a maternal assessment unit, along with expanded and relocated back-of-house services and research offices.
